About DMIT

Department of Management & Information Technology

The Department of Management and Information Technology (DMIT) operates under the Faculty of Management and Commerce at the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka. The department offers the B.Sc. in Management and Information Technology programme — a comprehensive three-year degree featuring 65% IT-related subjects and 35% Management subjects.

The programme serves regional and national academic needs in the field of Management and Information Technology, focusing on the role of modern managers who need a combination of management competence blended with capability to exploit developments in Information and Communication Technology.

Our graduates are equipped to work across service, manufacturing, and government sectors, combining management and IT expertise to achieve excellence in enterprise management.

Entry Requirements

Eligibility criteria for the B.Sc. in MIT programme

G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Qualification

Minimum of 3 passes at the G.C.E. A/L examination in the Commerce or Arts stream
Minimum Z-score as determined by the UGC for the relevant academic year
Selection based on merit through the UGC university admission process
Credit pass in Mathematics and English at G.C.E. O/L is preferred
